The race HQ and event starts on the Kirton Recreation Ground on Back Road – with the route taking in the local countryside, including views over Kingsfleet and the river Deben. The finish is back at the Recreation Ground where refreshments are available, along with showers and changing facilities.

Organised by the Felixstowe Road Runners.

Bags of Wool: Learn to Knit Fair Isle

This class is suitable for fairly confident knitters.

In the morning we’ll look at the techniques of knitting Fair Isle patterns including holding the yarn in one hand or two hands, stranding and reading Fair Isle charts.

In the afternoon you can start a pair of Fair Isle fingerless mitts in DK yarn using 4mm needles.

The cost of materials for this will be £10.00 or you can provide your own materials – you will need 1 x 50g ball of DK yarn in 6 different colours. Please bring a pair of 4mm needles. If you have a pattern that you would like to work on in the afternoon instead of the mittens please bring it along with the yarn.

More Miller Magic – The Astor Big Band

The Astor Big Band, Singers and the Strictly Miller Dancers present a host of Glenn Miller No. 1 Hits.

Including In the Mood, Tuxedo Junction, At Last, plus a selection of great hits by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters. This fabulous Big Band also present songs from the musicals West Side Story, Les Miserables, Copacabana, Maria, and many more, all in an unmistakable Big Band format with arrangements in the style invented and made famous by Glenn Miller.

All Astor Big Band Profits are donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
