The Armed Forces flag will be raised by the Mayor of Felixstowe in the Town Hall Gardens at 1000 – in readiness for the Suffolk Armed Forces Weekend on the 24 and 25 June.

Following the flag raising, in commemoration of the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele, the Town Council and the Royal British Legion will be holding a short service at the War Memorial across the road.

At the service the Mayor of Felixstowe will lay a white cross as we reflect on the loss of over 245,000 Allied and 215,000 German casualties during approximately 100 days of heavy fighting on the front line.

Members of the public are very welcome to attend these events and are advised to convene at the Town Hall Gardens for the flag raising at 0955.

Admission free.
